How we rate news outlets
Every outlet on the Live Wire carries a perspective label so you know where its coverage comes from. Here is exactly how we score them.
We score each outlet from -2 (liberal) to +2 (conservative) on five factors, weight them, and average the result. Scores between -0.5 and 0.5 read as Independent. Most local Oklahoma newsrooms land there: straight-news TV stations and newspapers that report rather than advocate. National outlets appear on the Live Wire only for stories about Oklahoma.
Ratings marked preliminary await a review of a coverage sample. Guerrilla News does not rate itself; our stories carry an "Our reporting" tag. Think a rating is wrong? Tell us through the Tip Line with examples, and we will review it.
