A Tulsa County district judge has been caught on camera repeatedly drinking heavily at a local bar before driving away with her young grandson in the vehicle, according to newly released footage and private investigator testimony. The allegations have triggered over 560 judicial complaints and sparked a confrontation with local law enforcement who allegedly refused to intervene.
Private Investigator Documents Pattern of Drinking
Kevin Schumacher, a licensed private investigator with Fisi Consultants, conducted surveillance of District Judge Sharon Holmes at the Hunt Club on four separate occasions in October and November 2023. His findings paint a disturbing picture of judicial misconduct.
"Over the four times that I went there to observe, Mrs. Holmes consumed from 3 to seven straight shots of vodka and from one to two White Claw hard seltzers in a period of from about 1 hour to a maximum of 2 hours," Schumacher stated in a recorded interview.
On three of those four occasions, Holmes had her grandson with her inside the bar, which was not serving food at the time. The child would sit in a booth near where Holmes drank at the bar before both got in her black vehicle and drove away.
Police Supervisors Walk Away From Video Evidence
When citizen journalists attempted to report the alleged felony to Tulsa police officers, the encounter took an unexpected turn. The reporters had video evidence of Holmes's drinking pattern and were asking officers to intervene while she was allegedly inside the Hunt Club drinking with her grandson.
After showing officers the documented evidence, supervisors were called to the scene. However, when presented with the footage and asked to take action, the supervising officers allegedly left without addressing the situation.
"We were informed we were done here by our supervisor," one officer told the reporters, declining to provide the supervisors' names for follow-up.
Mass Complaint Campaign Targets Judicial Conduct Office
The investigation has generated unprecedented public response. Citizens filed over 560 judicial complaints with the Oklahoma judicial conduct authorities, with the first 250 delivered in person to the courthouse.
"Thanks to all of you who have filed judicial complaints," one of the investigating journalists stated while delivering boxes of complaints to the judicial conduct office receptionist. The complaints were symbolically delivered in a box from Marshall Brewing Company, though the company has no connection to the investigation.
The surge in complaints represents one of the largest coordinated efforts to hold a sitting judge accountable for alleged misconduct in recent Oklahoma history.
Attorney Faces Emergency License Suspension for Exposing Judge
In a shocking twist, the attorney who helped expose Holmes now faces emergency suspension of his law license by the Oklahoma Supreme Court. The bar association is reportedly attempting to suspend Ron Durban without a hearing for his role in documenting and publicizing the judge's alleged drinking and driving.
"They don't like the fact that I'm exposing that the courts are corrupt," Durban stated. He maintains that exposing judicial misconduct serves the public interest, regardless of personal professional consequences.
What Happens Next Remains Unknown
The footage reveals a pattern of alleged felony conduct by a sitting judge who regularly sentences others for similar offenses. With hundreds of complaints filed and video evidence documented by a licensed investigator, the case has reached the state's highest judicial authorities.
But critical questions remain unanswered. How will the judicial conduct board respond to the unprecedented volume of complaints? Will law enforcement take action on the documented evidence? And what happens to a legal system when those who enforce it allegedly break the same laws?
